Giuseppe Iacono graduated in 2001 in Violin at the Conservatory of Naples. In 2003 he graduated in Composition at the Conservatory of Milan. He also attended several Masterclasses in Composition with composers such as Ivan Fedele, Alessandro Solbiati, Claudio Ambrosini. He subsequently specialised in violin at the Scuola Civica in Milan and the UDK in Berlin.
From 2002 to 2005 he studied Electronic Music at the Conservatory of Como. In 2006 he attended the Sonology Course at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, The Netherlands.
Giuseppe Iacono has collaborated with the filmmakers Reynold Reynolds, Silvia Schedelbauer, Vanessa Woods, Samantha Clark.
The video Way fare (directed by Sylvia Schedelbauer with music of Giuseppe Iacono) received the award for âBest Sound Designâ at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, USA. In 2011 he participated in the â48 Stunden Neukoellnâ Festival, Berlin and in the âTransMediale â Art&Digital Culture Festivalâ, Berlin.
In 2014 partecipated with an audio installation and a violin performance to the exhibition by Italian sculptor Giovanni De Angelis at the Aragonese Castle, Ischia (Italy). In May 2015 he has been guest of the Ohrenhoch Gallery, Berlin. In October 2015 he has partecipated to the ICSC 2015 (3rd International Csound Conference) in St. Petersburg with Under the Skin.
In January 2016 he has given a lecture at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustic of Graz (IEM). In the same month âLa rosa incarnata del suonoâ was played in concert in the Minoritensaal, Graz, on the initiative of the Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten.
In November 2016 he has been Composer in residence at the ConservatĂłrio de MĂșsica de Seia, Portugal, guest of the Festival Dias de MĂșsica ElectroacĂșstica. During this staying he held lectures in the Conservatory of Seia and in the Conservatory of Viseu.
Giuseppe Iacono regularly performs in duo with piano and organ, or in several kinds of ensembles.
